Looking back

Hey there friends,
I've been working away in my scraproom on my design team projects for The Scrapping Bug but I can't share them with you quite yet. The fifteenth will be here soon & I'm excited to share them with you.

Recently I asked my parental units to send me some family photos and they found some really great ones of my grandparents. Unfortunately I did not get to meet either of my grandfathers and one of my grandmothers passed away before I was old enough to really remember her. This layout is the first of several I hope to make about both sets of grandparents.

I hope you are able to take sometime today Remember how lucky we are to live in Canada and the scarifies that were and continue to be made by the Canadian troops. I will always remember.

Have a great weekend and thank you for leaving your comments I appreciate all of them.

We weren't invited...

.....but we celebrated anyway.

A group of friends and I got up early to watch the wedding back in April.
Some of us dressed up in silly out fits and some didn't.
Some of us had tea and biscuits for breakfast and some of us didn't.

Some of us fell asleep....

Nice tiara!

....and some of us didn't

I wore a vail with my pyjamas. Classy right?

Thanks for visiting today, enjoy your weekend!

a little piece of fall

This layout is full of Silhouette goodness and things I love about this time of year.

I just love the print and cut function and made the leaves with it. Even my title was done on the Silhouette using the sketch pens and a sketch font.

If you are interested in the shapes let me know in your comments.

I hope your having a great weekend, thanks for stopping by!

Sharing some instaLOVE

So have you heard of Instagram? It's an app. available in the Apple App. store and I am telling you it is so addictive. You take a picture and instantly apply a cool filter to the photo then save it, email it, post it, or Facebook it or Tweet  it all on your phone.
The trouble.....is choosing which effect you like the best.

Now since this little app. is so stinkin' popular lots of people are printing the photos, making stickers, making all shorts of things........even scrapbook layouts.
Mrs. Cathy Zielske  created the (above) digi template to capture the instaLove. She even had the most wicked idea......make one of these each month with some of your favourites. YES!
Awesome Cathy, simply awesome idea.

Do you Instagram?
Let me know in your comments if you do so I can check out some of your pics.

Happy hump day!
Thanks for stoping in for a look-see.

Here's the sketch

Flower Pots and Simple Stories

 It's almost the weekend.....awesome possum! Can't wait.
I am busy, busy, busy with lots of scrappy goodness these days.  I am taking online class, planning page kits for a week long retreat in September and I am organizing my digital images. Busy as a bee you see.

I made a quick layout the other day and I mean Super Fly fast.......

I printed a photo I love at 18x12 at home and cut it to fit into the pockets. I chose a 6x12 piece for the left side from the Simple Stories Destinations kit added some stickers, a title, journaling, small photo and a few stamped images then called it done!
Here is a photo of one of the flower pots that I have to get one a page shortly. These rock formations are so beautiful.

I gotta tell ya, ever since I saw the Simple Stories kits Elementary and Life Documented I have always wanted share my excitement about them with others. I LOVE the 100 Days of Summer line ! and I am currently working with the Destinations line for a travel album.

It is a perfect product for all types of scrapbookers. I have worked in scrapbook stores before and sold Close to My Heart products in the past and I love to share my hobby with others. Showing people that this is a meaningful hobby for not only the crafter but also for the people that they scrapbook about.

I could ramble on about this for quite a while (Loves It!) but I will quickly get to the point......

If you know someone that might be interested in scrapbooking get a Simple Stories kit and
We R Memory Keepers pocket pages and scrapbook with them, help them to create a page or two.

So fast and easy...... (I borrowed the images from the Simple Stories site)

And for the experienced scrapper use it as you would any other paper line.
Don't feel restricted some of the designs.

Share scrapbooking with someone soon!

Thank you for stoping by.

Woo Hoo I finished a layout

It's feels good to finish a layout, doesn't it?
I am trying to get back to scrappin' as it's been I long while since I created several layouts.
Back in March I completed quite a few but since then only 2 that I can remember. My card making has dominated my creative time for sure.
In an attempt to reconnect to the scrappy self I made a layout about why I scrapbook.

I even used a cool Digi photo overlay I bought from Two Peas in a Bucket then printed
the photo at home.
Cross my fingers this is the first of many to show up on here over the next while. :)

Thank you for stoping by today and leaving your comments.
I read them all and appreciate you taking the time to post them.

Road Trip & Wall art

Happy Friday
The end of the week is here !!

I used some photos back from 2005 of a road trip to Montreal with my sister in-law.
The layout is from a free sampling I received from Two Scrapbook Friends with my last online order.
The papers are from the new We R Memory Keepers travel line called Travel Light.
It's all about the retro.

AND

This piece now hangs in my craft-room, I found the idea at the Studio Calico blog
I used several Lilly Bee papers, PTI stamps and butterfly die cut,
My Favourite Things die-namic 1/4 rosette and glimmer mist.

On a somewhat sad note my group of girlies called the Lunch Bunch is over
for another year, summer comes and vacations start.
I love meeting up with them every week, we laugh so much and I really
enjoy their company. I will get to see some of them over the summer here and there, I hope
everyone has a fantastic summer with their families.
I know when September comes we will have lots to talk about, lots of photos to
scrapbook and many fun Tuesday's in our future.
I'll will miss you chicks over the summer.

Take care, be safe, make memories & take pictures !!!

Month of March

I know it's not over yet but I think I have been a little more productive this month with my scrapbooking? My mojo has been a little off, I think because I need to really get into my photos again and find things that I want to scrapbook. I am also thinking that because I am at home more now that I am not taking photos as much.

My card making has certainly increased because of that fact.

There was a short pile of layouts that needed some finishing off.....journaling or embellishment. I have been able to put those into an album today and few new ones created this weekend with help from the challenges over on the Two Scrapbook Friends forum.

Sweet !

A few crafty things to share

I have a few manly birthday's this month. I made a couple of cards like this but with different images.

Do you know Papertrey Ink ?
The woodgrain in the background of this card is one of their embossing plates. It's awesome and I use it a lot.

Another cool challenge over at the Two Scrapbook Friends
Did someone say buttons?
I used a bunch to make this tree top, OH how I love using my stash.

My card above was inspired by my new pal Deanna and the card she made for a challenge.
Check out her blog she is truly one talented chickie!

One more challenge from the

Use squares. Do you think this qualifies?

My awesome brother in-law Dan, took the above photo of Riley and I while the girls were getting their hair cut. We were having a private little conversation to try and get her to smile while Dan took her photo.
This is what she was giving Dan in other photos......little miss attitude......so funny

My new fav. layouts

These two layouts are my new favourites.
I have yet to show them to my siblings to see if they want them or if they will stay with me, I could not resist scraping them. Yep my mom made those costumes back in 1976 (she might be wrong about the year) she was a very crafty mom.
Check out the wicked orange and brown curtains.

I scrap-lifted this layout from a Design team member over on the Two Scrapbook Friends message board. Miss. Shelby is a very talented lady.
I made my own background paper with a predesigned plastic paper, a sponge and ink.

My big brother is so cute doing the Superman pose.

This Wonder girl is my older sister.
Do you remember Wonder Woman and her bracelets of truth?

I want to find more photos like these and get them in my scrapbooks.

Sharing some layouts

Last week I spent a few days with some of my scrappin' friends up near Lake Simcoe at a cabin.
I was relatively productive and completed all the layouts I planned for. I tried using a friends idea to organize layout kits before leaving this time....find the photos, find a sketch for inspiration print photos to size, get papers and make a layout kit. It really worked!

Here are a few of the layouts I completed.

My sister Marnie and I at my bothers wedding
(the green is not showing up well online)

This is a gift for my SIL's mother that will be framed
I made my own rolled fabric flower
So pretty

A challenge for the 2 Scrapbook Friends board
the journaling is a few verses from Petula Clark's song Downtown.

My oh so silly niece Paige

Starting a new album

For many years I have read books, articles and blog entries written by Stacy Julian and this project is something she encourages all scrapbookers to do. I believe she has been writing about this type of album since her first book Simple Scrapbooks. (before the magazine started)

This is a project that I have wanted to do for a long time, just never really got around to starting.
Today I started and this is the album cover, I chose an American Craft 8x8 d-ring album the kind that has a plain chipboard cover and added this simple digital page I made in PSE.

Now the idea is that I will keep the pages very simple, photo on the left page and journaling on the right page explaining why I love that photo so much. The objective is to get a little deeper than the obvious information that is shown in the photo. If I don't want to write any journaling then that is OK. Now on to the photo selection, because this is an ongoing album I don't have to have everything ready now which is quite nice since I find the process of editing and printing photos a bit of a chore.

Busy Bee

I have finally got my scrapbook mojo back, and I am scrapin' up a storm.
I almost hate to leave for the weekend and stop creating.
We are heading up to a cottage this weekend with Alex's family, a birthday present we gave to his father, it should be a blast and I am sure to take lots of photos while we are there.
Which means more to scrap when I get back.
We bought a new game called Hedbanz, it looks like fun and a friend recommend it to me.

Here are some layouts I have completed over the last 2 weeks.
Enjoy your weekend!
