Here are a few Halloween cards for my nieces and nephews.

I cut the tree for this card with my silhouette

Tomorrow I'm off to the post office then I'll have dig out the Halloween 

decorations and get the front yard all spooked up.

i thought i would share a couple of the crafty things i've made this week.

a card with a bit of lacing

i used some echo park papers and element sticker from the home & seasons line some brads, ribbon and embroidery thread for the lacing.

a little something for my hubby to hang on his wall

 i used both sides of some older bo-bunny paper, screw head brads and a road bike shape from the silhouette store.

Holiday gifts

I've got Christmas on the brain all ready, thinking of what I can make for gifts this year. I have a few things on my list.....first up card sets. The sets contain 10 cards, 10 envies with varying themes.

To finish them off, a little tag and some wrapping paper. One thing I can check off the todo list.

Now I really should get working on my Christmas cards!

Digital party invitation

We are heading off to Memories Manor next week, for an entire week! I have heard so many great reviews of Memories Manor and I'm really looking forward to the trip.
There are 20 of us going and we have meal teams set up form Sunday to Thursday. Every year the meal teams come up with an idea or theme to design their dinners around. In the past we have had themes like Christmas dinner, 50's diner, My big fat Greek wedding and Octoberfest to name a few.

This year I made an invitation but I can't share are theme as it's strictly confidential until the soiree starts.
I created this in Photoshop Elements 9 using some digi scrapping products.

It should be very interesting to see what kind of outfits the ladies put together. 

They were told the could interpret "black tie" any way they wanted......they could show up formally dressed or like the Mad Hatter.  It's going to be so much fun!

Very simple card using an old Quickutz die, Basic Grey papers,

letter stickers from Lilly Bee and my typewriter.

I'm not totally happy with it but I'm callin' it done....

maybe stitching around the edge??

Now on to those cards I mentioned...

The first card has some hand stitching and PTI stamp sets

 "just the ticket" & "up, up and away"

Here are 2 birthday cards. One again has hand stitching 

(totally loving that right now) 

& on both cards I used the Hero Arts stamp set "friendly flags"

the blue card sentiment is from "essential messages"

the pink card sentiment is from "sending smiles messages"

oh yes the grid background is a Kaiser Craft acrylic stamp "grid"

the flags were coloured using copic markers and are covered in glossy accents 

and they look a lot better in person.

Easter is in the house

Fo shizzle. I have been working on my Easter cards and I think I am all done.

I kept them very simple so I could take the time to colour the images but not have the card take to long to make. I had fun colouring these silly images :) they are digital stamps from

Bugaboo Stamps.

The company is Canadian and they have a huge variety of images from the very cute to sassy and down right hilarious stuff. You really should check them out.

Guess what my friends there is another online crop happening this weekend over at the

Two Scrapbook Friends forum. We have until 6pm Sunday night to finish the challenges.

I am cropping with friends tomorrow and hope to get some of them done. Sweet.

Cards

I seem to be lacking in my scrapbooking inspiration lately so I have been working on cards.

I have been seeing some cool techniques on some blogs that I visit and I got my tools out and this is what I created.

Over at the Hero Arts blog some pretty awesome things are posted.

Shari Carol posted a layered stamp background technique that looked totally cool, but was out of my comfort zone.

Depending on how heavily you add ink you can get some pretty different looks

There are four steps in this card.

Emboss, create the back ground, stamp a subtle image over background and then stamp your image.

Because this was out of my comfort zone I used the same stamps Shari Carol did.

As you can see the results are very different.

This next card is very simple it is a stamp from Hero Arts again called Large Blossom.

The stamp really does the work.

I embossed with white embossing powder and coloured it in using Distress inks and water. This technique is all over the card blog world it seems. I am not sure but I think Jennifer McGuire posted something that started a love fest with this technique.

It might be called the embossed resist technique but don't quote me.

I tried embossing on water colour paper (left image)

and the embossing is ruff like the paper which allows the ink in all the little holes. I do like the look, it adds some texture.

A few crafty things to share

I have a few manly birthday's this month. I made a couple of cards like this but with different images.

Do you know Papertrey Ink ?

The woodgrain in the background of this card is one of their embossing plates. It's awesome and I use it a lot.

My card above was inspired by my new pal Deanna and the card she made for a challenge.

My awesome brother in-law Dan, took the above photo of Riley and I while the girls were getting their hair cut. We were having a private little conversation to try and get her to smile while Dan took her photo.

Now that was FUN!!

I spent the weekend cropping with Two Scrapbook Friends .

Using inspiration from the SuperBowl they had 7 excellent challenges waiting for us during this weekend online crop.

I was not able to get all 7 done however I used everything I made was from my stash and that makes me Happy. :)

Superbowl Sunshine~Anything that evokes warmth

(this is my favourite item made this weekend)

Pick a Team~ use the colours from one of the teams jersey

Be the Ball~ Use brown, texture and stitching

Superstars~ use stars on your project

All about the Food~create a layout with a photo of food or a reference to food

So this challenge is right up my alley.....

over at Little Red Wagon this weeks challenge was to use kraft paper.

Hello. I like totally use kraft paper like its going out of style.

And the Valentines are finished

Nice and simple.

I used some pretty old and unused stamps on these cards. Feels good to use the what I have in my stash (I resisted the temptation to buy new ones).

The "stash" is what we crafters like to call the products we hoard, continue to add to and yes even use from time to time (some of you are better at this than I am) still feels a little out of control even though I have purged like crazy.

I think......a little reorganization is over due in my creative space.

Well today is full of errands here at my house, so I better get off my butt and the computer.

Starting to feel the Love

I don't usually send out Valentines... I have the time and I seem to have a small collection of appropriate stamps (not sure how this happened?), so I givin' it a whirl.

These are the first 3 finished they are for Justin, Paige & Riley.

I did not buy anything new to make these cards, I used my stash. YAY me!

I love the Monster Fun set from Hero Arts, something that I have not used since I bought it.

Birthdays and other stuff

January is a busy month for our family in the birthday department and these are cards I will be giving this month.

My nephew's birthday is on the 8th, I'm the 10th, my sister is on the 18th and my sister in-law is on the 26th.

With Christmas just passed I am having a hard time thinking of what to buy....

My sister is a jeweller, she can make any type of jewellery she wants but I really like some of the necklaces from Lisa Leonard specifically the "be still" necklace. She is always a hard one for me to buy for.

Have you heard of Evernote? Well this App. is quite AMAZING!!

"Evernote makes it easy to remember things big and small from your notable life using your computer, phone, and the web."

It will help you remember everything, and its easy to use.

I am the type that book marks a ton of stuff on the web, takes photos with my iPhone and now since I started Project Life it is really helping me keep things together and organized.
