Use Your Stuff Monday

I know Halloween just ended but I've already been thinking of Christmas.
I'm a little behind with the designing of my cards this year, so far just one design.

Christmas or Holiday themed project.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

While searching my computer for the above image I came across some holiday projects
from years past and I thought I would recap some here.

This is just so cute I had to share it again.
Awwwww

UYS Monday

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I am so happy that Halloween is almost here, I look forward to it every year!
So when Lynne challenged us to a Halloween colour challenge I knew what I wanted to do.

I used my Silhouette to cut out these sweet treat boxes.
Aren't they awesome?

I cut them at the right size to work with a PTI stamp set I bought last year and
never used until now. This set got quite a workout, I made several cards and boxes this season.

Head over to the Use Your Stuff blog and join us this week with your sweet creations.

UYS Monday

This weeks challenge from Bronwyn is Home Sweet Home.

I created a 6x12 canvas with some scraps, tissue paper and some help from my Silhouette.

It seems one of my favourite things to do is to get messy these days.
I love getting my hands in there when making canvases.

Have an awesome week!

Use Your Stuff Monday

Time for another challenge on the Use Your Stuff blog

It was my turn to set the challenge and this week I asked everyone to
use three or more brads on their projects.

This layout was created a while ago for a 1 hour challenge and
I did not like the finished layout. So I added more embellishment and tweaked the title a bit.
I really like the way it looks now.

Head over the the UYS blog and link up your project for this weeks challenge.

Use Your Stuff Monday

woohoo! it's my turn to set the challenge this week.
i am lovin' these summer days and wishing i could be outside more often.
with that in mind as my inspiration, i made this fun outdoor scene on a 10x10 canvas.

i was not only inspired by the outdoors, i was also very inspired by christy tomlinson.
lots of paint, stamping and rub ons creating the background.
the flowers are cut from stampin' up sizzlitts and mini punches.
the clothes pegs are from american crafts.

visit the UYS blog for more details and to check out the other projects for this week.

use your stuff

this week Ms. Bronwyn challenged us to.......

Make a one page layout with four or more photos.

I used digital products from sahlin studio called key to my heart and washi tape strips no. 2
I used them as the jumping off point for this layout. I always pleasantly surprised when I start with product first, no worrying about matching colours in the photos. I love how this turned out.

Now I'm no expert on digi scrapping as you can tell from my drop shadows, but, since
my craftroom is in boxes I am going to try and learn some more tricks.

I hope you can join us for this weeks challenge. Visit the UYS blog and link up your creation.

Use Your Stuff

It's been that long!
Very bad blogger. Well you know life can sometimes just get busy and bloggin' goes to the bottom of your to do list.....that's what happen to me. Lots of things happening around the home front, we are in the process of selling our home. We decided to update a few things before listing so were also in the middle of renovations, needless to say my crafting time is in short supply.

My challenge for this week over on the UYS blog is to add texture to your project.
I decided to make another canvas....

Lots of good texture on there. I used moulding paste, rub-ons, paint, stamps and a bit of doodling.
I also used some Studio Calico Abroad papers to make her dress.  I hope you get a chance to pop over to the Use Your Stuff blog to check out what the other chickas have made and maybe even like up your own project.

a 3x3 canvas, some antique script paper by bazzill basics and matte multi-medium.

Head over to the uys blog, check out what the other ladies made and

use your stuff

this week on use your stuff, bronwyn challenged us to use hexagons. they are very popular right now and a ton of inspiration can be found on pinterest.
here's what i made for our challenge

i cut two sizes of hexagons with my silhouette to create these card fronts. you can't see it here but a couple of the shapes are raised with pop dots.
check out the UYS blog to see what the other ladies came up with, i hope you can join us this week.

late to the party

i'm late to the use your stuff party this week. not because i couldn't find a dress but
because i was a little drained from the online crop i helped host over the weekend.
so much fun! but i felt like i had a creative hangover.

this past monday Barb made us a sketch and challenged us to use it.

i used some american crafts amy tan paper and embellishment. i love the barcode
strip on this line. we usually throw away this strip but not these ones.
one side has a pattern on it. this layout was made pretty much with one
12x12 paper and one border strip.

check out the UYS blog and see what the other projects look like.
we all used the same sketch but our layouts are so different.

hello again

well i can't say that we gave up all our techie toys but
we did get a good break from them.

no t.v.
very limited internet use (10 minute blocks on certain days)
no blogging :(
no texting (i broke down on the 22nd)
next time we will try for the whole shebang. give up all "connected" gadgets.

now for the crafty stuff....here are a few peeks for you of some up coming projects

some use your stuff

lynne challenged us to use  teal, purple and yellow gold
i rarely use purple in my projects but this challenge started me on a purple kick! maybe purple isn't so bad.

the flower was cut on my silhouette. i saw a similar card with this flower somewhere on the web but now i can't find it to share it with you. *love* this flower

see what the other gals made

have a fabulous friday!

i still had them.

u y s monday

i was up this week to set the challenge and i have been using lots of dies and tags from my stash from my project life. so inspired by that.......the challenge is to use your tags and die cuts.

here's my layout

i was thinking i could have used lots of the die cut sticker sheets that i have too.

a little bit of washi tape for the border, some punched circles i had sitting around and a movie camera image from the silhouette store was all i need. i used kraft paper again....i'm only slightly addicted.....and a little chipboard heart which i think was a left-over from a basic grey calendar a couple of years ago.
the title letters are from heidi swapp called invisible stickers, i inked them with tumbled glass distress ink.

to check out with the other UYS team made with their die cuts

happy monday!

you know what time it is

it's monday.....time for a use your stuff challenge

i had to limber up for this challenge. ms. barb challenged us to keep things in line and stretch them out.
i made an 8.5x11 layout this week and i think i did a pretty good job
stretching across the page and keep it all in line

grey, yellow and a bit of teal all on a cream background. love this colour combo!
visit the use your stuff blog to see what the other chicks made and link up your own project.
