Digital Cutting

Just over 1 month a new machine arrived at my home. I made the decision to sell the Cricut machine that I had only used a handful of times and use the money from that sale to purchase a Silhouette SD.

The price was really great, less than $200 and I was really interested in the Print & Cut function.
This function allows me to print an image on my existing home printer. It will print out registration marks that the Silhouette's optic eye will read and use to help guide it when cutting out the image.
I love using this machine, it cuts so well even on the most intricate designs. It's been a lot of fun cutting out designs and playing around with all the functions.  Silhouette America also recently introduced a new function called "Pattern Fills" where you can fill any regular cutting shape and turn it into a print and cut! This function even resizes the pattern size to fit in your image, which is like buying a 6x6 paper pad for the smaller patterns.

As if you can't already tell, I am very happy with my purchase.

Thank you for stopping in today for a read, see you on the next post!

Both images have been borrowed from the Silhouette America web page or Silhouette America blog

I'm so wanting the new Cameo that Silhouette is coming out with this fall but have no idea where to get locally. Boo to that! Glad you like the SD. I think I'll still keep my Cricut E for now.. We'll see ;)

Btw - LOVED hearing about your trip to the Manor. Sounded amazing and I'm totally envious!
